My first 5 K Run at Disney Animal Kingdom

Disney Wide World of Sports day before the race

Last spring my daughter Kimberly asked me to walk/run a 5k (3.1) miles at Disney with her on November 10th.
I said "no"- you have been in over 20 races and you are good at it! Not me I said, I'm too old.

Kim was persistent and said mom you can do it!
Finally I said OK, just to get her off my back.

The day's flew by and the week of the race came. I really did not want to do it.
The happier Kim was the more I thought no way. On Friday  we picked up our Race Packets and I really did not want to do it.

Saturday, I met Kimberly at her house at 5:30 AM to head to Disney's Animal Kingdom for the race. We had to be there at 6:00 AM to check in and it was really cold.
The day was here and it was too late to back out. We completed the race in 48 minutes! 
Even thought Kimberly cold have finished in less time, she stayed by my side and shared with me the joy of finishing my first race.

Now I can't wait to do the next race but in less time!
