Frequent Updates on Family Photos!

Just a quick overview of my life in the USA

Our House, Fruitport Michigan

Dave and I were married in Germany 1964. We moved to Minnesota 1965.
Our close friends from Germany lived in Muskegon Michigan.
After us contemplating a while, we decided to move to Muskegon Michigan
in the fall of 1966.
We built a new home as you can see to my left in 1967 in Fruitport Michigan.
We raised our 2 children Dan and Kim here in Fruitport.
Dave and I loved to travel and have seen many countries. Just to name a few, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgian, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Lichtenstein.....
We been to almost all the states in the USA, parts of Canada and little of Mexico. Our life was great!
Then the most davastating day happened in our life..
Our son Dan died of a heart attack at age 27 in 1993.
This is something no one ever wants for their children. With The Lords Help and everyone's Prayers that is what kept us going.
Our daughter Kim was selected on the college program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida in 1990. She went, fell in love with Florida and made Celebration, Florida her new home.

What's nice about moving to Florida is
"Walt Disney World "
I live about 7 miles from Disney.
It surely is the Greatest Place on Earth.

My House in Florida

After vacationing in Florida for many years and checked the area out we both decided
to move to Florida after we retire.
It would be great to be closer to our daughter and grandson, Cody.
We built a new home once again as you can see on my right in 2000 in Davenport Florida.
This was the year prior.
On May 25th 2001 we (age 56) finally retired. Dave from the State of Michigan,
I sold my business (Elfi's Chalet of Beauty) of 25 years few month prior.
Finally and full of excitment we were on our way to our new life in Florida.
This new life was short lived.
My life changed drastically 6 month after we got here.
Dave got very sick and passed on April 8th 2003.
We would have celebrated our 40th Anniversary that year.
Even though my life had ups and downs, I feel Blessed. The Lord take's care of me!

March 2015, I loved my House and hate to leave it. After many sleepless nights I finally decide to Sell.
I have been in this House 14 Years since Retirement in 2001.
Now it's time to downsize and move on to another stage in my Life.

A Poem from the Heart

Little I knew that morning, God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly, in death
we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of me went with you, the day God
called you home. You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain
will link again.

Since moving to the US Dave's family
became my family.
Now, 48 some years later we still keep
in touch. Even though I live in Florida,
they all live in Minnesota except Frank
who lives in Michigan.
